Needless to say, the free press, and more specifically student media, is close to the hearts of those involved in this blog.
Honi Soit is published by Sydney Uni's SRC (sadly, Australia's last remaining weekly student publication), and has been running a series of well-researched articles on the fate of student media in Australia. They outline some of the challenges faced by student press, and are useful reading in the current climate, as the AUU grapples with constitutional reforms which will have to address, among other things, the place of student media within the organization.
