Green, Blue, Red

Most political clubs held their AGMs in the past few weeks.

The Greens, ever full of young blood, had a highly attended AGM. Jake Wishart passed the torch onto rising star Tristan O’Brien.

The Liberals also have a new President, with Todd Hackings graduation making way for John Bowers, whose ascension to the position was widely expected. Their AGM featured a speech by (former state Liberal Leader) Iain Evans, which no doubt contributed to the high attendence.

The Labor Club, due to their somewhat peculiar constitution, has elected an executive (all Labor Left) but not office bearers. Office Bearers are to be decided by the executive at their first meeting, and so for now I presume Nick Grealy remains in charge.
The Labor Club AGM lasted 13 minutes, and was not widely attended. This has left the executive open to charges of trying to suppress attendance. The meeting was held at 10am on the last Thursday of term one (both other AGMs mentioned were held in the evening), and it appears that some members did not receive notice it was to occur. Included in those not to receive notice was Andrew Anson, who recently founded the Hawke Club, to the ire of the established Labor Club. The Clubs Association is investigating the matter.
